Happy Sunday Everyone

I thought I would share with your some information or things I have noticed over the years walking and pet sitting greyhounds.

Greyhounds are lovely caring dogs, after they retire from racing they become great dogs to rehome to a family environment but some do find this hard as they are not used to living like normal dogs, playing with toys, noises inside your home, being left on there own, as they are used to being just used as racing dogs so the transformation may take sometime as it is a lifestyle change.

They really do not need loads of exercise, short walks are fine. They feel the cold, so they do need large coats in the winter months, rain coats and not good with pain. I have noticed when they are happy they chatter there teeth, which is so funny to see.

Be mindful of letting them of the lead due to there prey drive or find somewhere quiet a gated secure field to let them off to have a good run around safely. Grooming is low due to there short coat.

I have found that once they get to know you, there own characters show and little ways, which is lovely to see.

I dog walk the two greyhounds below most days in Hitchin, they are very caring and loving dogs.

Thanks for reading Jo
